Managing template access in DocuSign is essential for ensuring that users can use only the templates they need while maintaining security and control over other sensitive or irrelevant templates. When access to specific templates is limited, it allows organizations to enforce policy compliance, restrict the use of certain documents to designated users, and protect confidential information from being accessed by unauthorized personnel.

Limiting access to specific templates involves setting permissions and access controls that dictate which users or user groups can view or use particular templates. This is crucial for organizations that rely on templates for legal documents, contracts, or service agreements, as it ensures that only trained and authorized personnel have the ability to send or edit these documents, reducing the risk of errors or misuse.

In contrast, creating a new user, updating user profiles, or changing user roles may involve different aspects of user management within the DocuSign platform but do not directly pertain to managing template access. These actions are more focused on user account administration rather than the specific control and management of document templates within the system. Therefore, they do not inherently require the nuanced permissions that template access management entails.
